Chesapeake Crab Dip
Maryland Crab Dip is a simple, delicious, and versatile dish
that has been enjoyed for generations. Made with fresh crab meat, cream cheese,
mayonnaise, sour cream, and a blend of seasonings, this creamy dip is a staple
at parties, picnics, and family gatherings throughout the state.
One of the great things about Maryland Crab Dip is its
versatility. It can be served warm or cold, and can be enjoyed as a dip with
crackers, chips, or veggies, or as a spread on bread or bagels. It also pairs
well with seafood dishes like flounder and rockfish, as well as other entrees
like chicken and steak.
Not only is Maryland Crab Dip delicious, it's also easy to
make and can be customized to your taste preferences. Add more cream cheese for a thick, creamier
dip or take some away to make it thinner and easier to scoop. Add some hot sauce for a spicy kick, or swap
out the crab for shrimp or lobster for a different flavor profile.
Whether you're hosting a party or just looking for a tasty
snack, Maryland Crab Dip is a classic dish that's sure to please.
2 8oz pack cream cheese (softened)
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sour cream
2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 tbsp old bay (add more if you like it spicy)
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp pepper
1 tsp salt
Mix all ingredients together except the crabmeat, and leave 1/2 cup of cheese out for topping. Dip into casserole dish, fold crabmeat in gently, top with 1/2 cup cheese and bake for 30 minutes on 350 degrees. To make top of dish crispy, broil on low for 5 minutes. Sprinkle with old bay on top and serve with crackers or toast!
